Training ship of the Norwegian Merchant Navy, made of wood.
A training ship is a vessel used to train students as sailors. The term is used specially with ships employed by the Navies to train their future officers. Essentially there are two types: old ships used as class house and others used for training on the sea. In general, they are modern sailing ships, with assisted engine propulsion, which allows the student to get familiarized with the study of the sea and the art of navigation, its terminology, concepts and instruments.
