In the knife industry there is a myth: in some place there is a totally stainless steel with big features in the cut. A Japanese smelting has turned this myth actually with the steel H1. It is a steel that has not been hardened by means of heat. In addition, the alloy has nitrogen instead of carbon. So it is not possible to oxidize. But it possesses a capacity of cut similar to other alloys with carbon.
To achieve that the whole razor is stainless, all the pieces have been treated and / or modified: the blockade of the leaf also is of steel H1, whereas the screws have a covering titanium to assure its resistance to the corrosion.
The leaf Hawkbill likes in the marine - fishing industry, where it is necessary to cut ends, fishlines and nets in a soft and efficient form. The curve of the leaf prevents that the object to cutting slips out of the edge.
Only a suggestion: if you are going to use it near the water, tie an end in the end. It is never known...
